Legacy of Wiley Allen
Wiley Allen was born on July 26, 1952 in Sardis, Georgia
to the late John Allen and Edna Mae Fludd both of whom
preceded him in death. Wiley, best known as “Buddy
Boy,” grew up in Georgia where he and his family picked
cotton for their livelihood. Later in his childhood years, his
family relocated to Patterson, New Jersey where he
attended the infamous Eastside High School.
Buddy Boy was a cook and worked in various restaurant
environments as a chef. He was noted for being
exceptionally skilled in the kitchen and found no issue in
using his talent for cooking to show his family love through
well prepared soul food.
He later relocated to Miami, Florida with the intent of
remaining close to his siblings. While living there he made
a second home of Dorchester, South Carolina while being
a caregiver for his mother, and years later for his sister
Lucille until her transition.
In 2013 he sustained a massive injury to his spine that
was physically debilitating to his body, but not to his mind
and will to live and continue loving and giving to his family.
He spent his later years until his transition in Harbor
Beach Nursing and Rehabilitation Center where he was
surrounded by a staff who loved him as much as he loved
them.
Wiley leaves to cherish his memories his beloved family:
