ROSIE HOLT-HATTEN Obituary

Rosie Lee Holt-Hatten was born on July 17, 1944, in Shellman, Georgia. She was the second
child of the late Jesse Holt, Sr., and Roberta Daniels Holt. Her family moved to Miami, Florida,
when she was 7 years old. She graduated from Booker T. Washington High School in 1962.
Rosie learned to serve God at an early age. attending and becoming a member of Mount Calvary
Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Rev. E.M. Thomas. She is also a
member of the Elk Club. Rosie had a love for caring for people, which is why she was a certified
nursing assistant and an employee of the Miami-Dade County School System.
In May of 1967, Rosie met and married Paul Jackson, Jr., who preceded her in death in 1998. To
this union were born two sons, Jerome, Sr., and Anthony Jackson, Sr. She also adopted three of
her stepsons, Terry, Phillip, and Kenneth Jackson. Rosie’s daughter, Wanda Holt Pierre, her first
child, preceded her in death in 2004.
Rosie was re-introduced to her first boyfriend, Benny Hatten, later in life. They married in 2005.
Benny preceded her in death in 2007.
Rosie was also a dedicated parent. She accompanied her brother, the late Jesse Holt, Jr., on many
trips involving the Miami Northwest Express.
On Friday, February 10, 2023, Rosie was called home to rest with her Lord and Savior, Jesus
Christ.
She leaves to mourn her six children, Jerome, Anthony, Sr., Terry, Phillip, and Kenneth Jackson.
A stepdaughter, Jacklyn Jackson, and devoted daughter-in-law Michelle. Her grandchildren are:
Anthony Jr., Katlin, Loretta, Brittany, Jaronda, Jerome Jr., Anteria, Arnecia, Antonio Jackson,
and Shante Porter. Dakota Jackson is the only great-grandchild. Ten nephews: Glenn Sr., Alan,
Sean, Roderick, Reginald Sr., Darren Sr., Terrance, Tralane, and Antwann Holt. Two nieces;
Charmanyne and Neferteri Holt. Shakita Holt, a dedicated grandniece, and numerous
grandnieces, grand nephews, cousins, and friends
