Josephine Porter was born in Buena Vista Georgia to the late Clarence and
Margaret Porter.
She attended Buena Vista public schools. She was known for her smile and
kindness for many years to the children at Lorah Park Elementary where she
worked as a Cafeteria Monitor until her retirement in 2004.
A timeless love was shared when she met the love of her life, Frank Jackson, and
to this union three children were born. For over sixty years together during their
love journey Frank and Josie made many memories and instilled family values in
their children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. “Ma” as she was
affectionately called by her grands and great grands. Spoiled each one of them in
her own special way. Creating a bond that could never be broken.
On Monday July 10, 2023, God whispered and said, “I’ve come for you my child to
fill this empty space.” Although she didn’t want to leave us behind, she quietly
obeyed because she knew that on June 22, 2023, Frank transitioned there. Now
back together again, Frank and Josie a bond that could never be broken.
“Ma” beautiful smile and heartfelt memories will be cherished by her son:
Reginald Jackson. Her daughters Cynthia Jackson (Chris) and Gwendolyn Jackson
(Dennis). Her Grandchildren Latoya Jackson-Singletary (James), Talesa Jackson
(Marlon), Antwan Jackson, Reginald Jackson II, Shon Jordan, Reginay Jackson,
Regimen Jackson, Leon Slaughter II and Reginya Jackson. Her great grandchildren:
Makiyah Harris, Timaria Williams, Lamar Jordan and Anyla Jordan. Her brother
James Porter who preceded her in death. Her sisters: Rosie Porter-Trody who
preceded her in death. Berniece Trody (James) and Florene Porter.
And a host of family and friends.
