JIMMY LEE MELVIN
January 11, 1956 ~ June 1, 2023 (age 67) 67 Years Old
Jimmy Lee Melvin was born January 11, 1956 in Hawkinsville, Georgia to the late
Frankie Lee Melvin and the late Addie Lee Melvin. Also, preceding him in death
was his youngest brother William “Billy” Franklin Melvin. Jimmy and his family
migrated from Georgia in 1960 to Florida and was raised in Miami, Florida.
Jimmy’s education started with Floral Heights Elementary School, Brownsville
Junior High School, and finally Miami Jackson Senior High School. He served in the
United States Army and was medically discharged. Some of his hobbies included
putting together model cars and trains, although his real passion was working on
automobiles as an auto mechanic. Jimmy was a former member of Antioch
Baptist Church of Miami where he also was a boy scout.
Jimmy met Teastie Lee Fowler (Deceased) in 1977 and they were married in 1980.
Jimmy and Teastie were blessed with two children, Antonio “Scooter” Scott
(Trenesa) and Jimise Fowler. Jimmy was also blessed with two other children,
Leslie Jackson (James) and Jimmy Melvin, Jr.
Jimmy departed this life to be with his Heavenly Father on June 1, 2023. Jimmy
leaves to cherish his memories, his sister Elwanda B. Thomas, brother Marvin L.
Melvin (Linda); nephews Lavell D. Barry (Terica), Marcellus L. Melvin (Christine);
nieces LaShauna D. Melvin and Trashanna Melvin (Felicia).
His sister-in-law Elvira Collins (Anthony), brother-in-law Fletcher Harden, Jr., Tony
Fowler (Sabine); ten grandchildren, Antanesha Bent, Ashley Scott, Kamora Fowler,
Micah Mignon, Malayshia Abel, Ton’taja Butler, Infiniti Lawrence, Mikell Gilcrist,
Camary Wheeler, and Zameer Gilchrist; seven great-grandchildren, and a host of
uncles, aunts, great-grand nieces and nephews, and dedicated friends.
