CHARLES McCRAY

The “Sunrise of Life” for our beloved Charles Anthony McCray, also known as T.C., was April 11, 1961 in Miami Florida to the late Charles James and Hester McCray. Tony was the middle child of seven siblings who grew up and went to school in Miami Dade County. He attended Miami Northwestern High School where he participated in football and wrestling. 

Tony Charles was known for his giving heart. He was an entrepreneur, a self-made man who took pride in helping his family and friends in various ways. From his infectious smile and outspoken charisma, TC was sure to light up any room. Some of his favorite things to do included watching sports, cooking, and playing dominoes. 

The “Sunset of Life” for Charles occurred on March 23, 2023. God sent down his angels and Charles answered his calls to take his rest. Even though our hearts are heavy, we are comforted in knowing “to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.”

Tony was cherished by his loving children Charles McCray Jr., Shaniqua McCray & Antonyia Lewis; Step son, Reddrick Harrell ; siblings who precede him in death Jimmy, Charlene and Sugie McCray; he leaves siblings Arlene, Phyllis & Vincent McCray; Grandchildren, Charlee McCray, Gersiah and Afrika Similien, Delyia and Delroy Lewis; Nephews, Victor, Zedrick, Phillip, Reed, Jamal, Isaiah; Nieces, Eboni, Vinnetra, Phylicia & Elesha; longtime friend Mildred; and a host of great nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
