Valerie Thompson was born on July 26, 1964, to the late Margarette Bonner and

Iverson Bonner. On March 5, 2026, she peacefully transitioned from this life,

leaving behind a legacy of love, strength, and devotion to her family and

community.

Valerie was united in marriage to her loving husband, Jackie Thompson.

Together they shared a life centered around family, care, and commitment.

She attended North Miami Senior High School and later dedicated many years of

service working as a Bus Aide before retiring from the City of Opa-locka as a

Crossing Guard. Valerie was known throughout her community for her warm

spirit, kindness, and the genuine care she showed to everyone she met,

especially the children she protected and guided each day.

Valerie’s greatest joy in life was her family. She leaves to cherish her loving

memory her only son, Damian, and her daughters Margaret, Lynette, Jacqueline,

Yolanda, and Christina. She was also a proud and loving grandmother to Garielle

and Michael, along with a host of other beloved grandchildren who brought her

immense pride and happiness.

She was preceded in death by her sister Kathleen, her brother Bobby and late

niece Kenisha. Valerie also leaves to cherish her memory her brothers Ezekiel,

and Lemmie; her niece Wanda; her nephews Keith and Kenneth; and a host of

extended family members, friends, and loved ones whose lives were touched by

her presence.

Valerie will always be remembered for her loving heart, gentle spirit, and

unwavering dedication to those she loved. Her legacy of compassion, strength,

and faith will continue to live on through the many lives she touched.
