Kevin
Cooper
Feb 5, 1986 — Mar 20, 2026
Miami
Kevin Darnell Cooper was born on February 5, 1986, at Jackson Memorial Hospital to
the late Karen Lenora Cooper and Shedrick McDowell. Kevin received his education in
the Dade County Public School system which he attended Charles R. Drew Elementary
and Middle School, Miami Northwestern Senior High, and later transferred to Corporate
Academy.
At the age of 18, Kevin faced the heartbreaking loss of his mother, Karen Cooper. Rising
to the challenge, he took on the responsibility of helping to raise his sister, Antwanette
Perry, and entered the workforce with determination. Over the next 15 years, Kevin held
a variety of roles, excelling in leadership, customer service, retail, and hosting. One of his
most memorable positions was at Armani Exchange, where he was admired for his keen
fashion sense and vibrant personality.
Kevin was loved by many, and though people may have called him by different names,
they would all agree on one thing: Kevin had a bright, bubbly personality and a heart of
gold. He would be remembered as a selfless, honest, and caring, bringing life and
laughter into every room he entered.
In life, there come challenges and struggles, and Kevin was no exception. He fought a
battle within himself that only God truly understood. With every effort he made, God
knew the day He would say, “I’ll take your pain away.” On March 20th, 2026, God
spoke: “Today, no more pain or shame. You can rest, for you are with Me.
Kevin leaves to cherish his memory (Kevin’s love will live on through) his father,
Shedrick McDowell; his beloved sister, Antwanette Lenora Perry; his nephew, Amari
Darnell Johnson; his aunts, Gwendolyn Cooper and Shaunice Herring (Eric); and a host
of cousins and friends.
Kevin Darnell Cooper will be remembered as a loving, generous soul who touched the
lives of all who knew him.
