Lady, Janice Rene West, affectionately known to many as "Jan"; the 8th child, and 5th daughter, of Mr. Henry West II and Mrs. Josephine West, was born on a bright and sunny Friday, September 20th, 1957, in Miami, Florida.

Growing up, Jan had a sweet, normal childhood. At an early age, she and her siblings were taught the importance of family and the value in loving and looking out for one another; values Jan would holdfast to throughout her journey in life.

Jan attended Miami-Dade County Schools for primary and secondary education, graduating from Miami Central High School in 1975. During adolescence , Jan met and fell in love with Charles James Tarver, and in their union, the couple welcomed 2 loving sons into the world, Trevin Tarver and Terrance West.

On Sunday, October 19th, 2025, at 10:12pm, Janice "Jan" West, exchanged this life's mortal garments for a robe designed in immortality and was welcomed into the ancestral planes by her loving Father, Henry West II, and 4 beloved Siblings; Henry West III, Dwight West, Addie Kirkland and Ava West; to be with The Heavenly Father in Eternal Paradise.

She leaves to carry the light of her love, her loving Mother, Mrs. Josephine West; 2 adoring Sons, Trevin Tarver Sr. (Desarie Tarver:Daughter In Law) and Terrance Henry-West (Patrick Henry-West:Son In Law); 7 beautiful Grandchildren, Destiny Greene, Trevin Tarver Jr., Dylan Tarver, Shy'Anne Tarver, Trenton Tarver, Sarai Henry-West and Arden Henry-West; 2 loving Bothers, Michael West and Alan West (Natasha); 4 caring Sisters, Sharon Rollins, Edna Jones, Althea West, and Lawanda West; and a host of Nephews, Nieces, Cousins, Friends and Loved Ones.
