Dwayne Bernard Mitchell Sr. was born on October 12, 1977, to the late Paulette

Mitchell and Raymond Bowe. His parents passed early in his life and Dwayne was

lovingly raised by the late Dorothy Pugh, affectionately known as “Sis.”

In 2004, Dwayne married Antoinette, and together they shared many years of love and

companionship. Family was important to him, and he treasured the bonds he shared

with those closest to him. More than anything, Dwayne took great pride in being a

father. His children were his pride and joy, and he loved and adored them deeply. He

was preceded in death by his beloved son, Dwayne Jr., born in 1999. In addition to his

parents Dwayne was preceded in death by his siblings, Sharon Brown, Marvin Moss,

Mark Givens, and Trellany Mitchell.

Dwayne had a hearty love for good food and that helped him blossom in his career as a

gifted cook. The kitchen became one of his greatest gifts—a place where he could

create, share, and show his love through food. Those who sat at his table not only

enjoyed good meals but also good company, laughter, and warmth.

Dwayne was resilient. Through life’s many challenges and adversities, he remained

strong. His strength, love, and presence touched many lives, and he was deeply loved

and will be truly missed.

He leaves to cherish his memory his devoted wife, Antoinette; his loving

children, Antwan and Dwayne Jr.; his stepsons, Jawan and Myles; his beloved

granddaughter, Kaliyah; his siblings, Tangela Collins, Laronda Moss, Dorothea

Strong and Ramona Bowe; his dear cousin, Romana Ramirez, who was like a sister

to him; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other loved ones.
