In Loving Memory of Bryant Lionel Coleman
November 19, 1981 – June 26, 2025
Bryant Lionel Coleman, born on November 19, 1981, in Miami, Florida, passed away on June 26, 2025,
at the age of 43. The Lord called him home, and though his departure was unexpected, we trust God
knew best.
A lifelong resident of Miami, Bryant was the beloved son of Darryl Whisby and Sheila Coleman
Whisby, and the eldest of four children. He attended Miami Central High School and was known
throughout his community for his kind heart, big personality, and warm spirit.
Bryant faced life with certain cognitive challenges and processed the world in his own unique way. Yet
he remained compassionate, thoughtful, and full of care for others. He was often quiet and kept to
himself, but his love for children and his desire to help others were unmistakable. Whether offering to
pump gas, tote groceries, or assist his mother with chores, Bryant found his own meaningful ways to
show up for others. He was a helpful and dependable son, and a bright light in the lives of those
around him.
He had a deep love for sports—especially football and basketball—and was a die-hard fan of the
Dallas Cowboys. Bryant also had a remarkable sense of humor and was known for his hilarious
impersonations of the character "Shanaynay" from the Martin sitcom, which brought endless laughter
to his family and friends. His playful spirit and one-of-a-kind personality made him unforgettable.
He is survived by his loving parents, Darryl Whisby and Sheila Coleman Whisby; his three devoted
brothers: Donnell Coleman (Quinshawna), Darryl Coleman Jr. (Stacey), and Leon Smith (Tarnecia) and
his god-sister, Tonique Brooks, whom he proudly referred to as his sister His special niece, Donteria
Clark, and nephew, Darryl Wagnac, held a unique place in his heart, as did his favorite cousins, Briana
Dorce and Nataliea Toombs, and his special lady friend, Keisha, who brought joy and companionship
to his life. Bryant also leaves behind a large and loving extended family, including many aunts:
Barbara, Diane, Doris, Dorothy, Mary D, Mary T, Karri, Gloria, Eulastine, Theresa, Yvette, Patricia,
Betty, Ruby, Barbarann, Louise, and Lorraine; and uncles: Charles, Gary, Tommy, Tyrone, John, Kevin,
Gregory, Alex, Albert II, Albert III, Curtis, Donny, and Clinton. He will be deeply missed by his
godmother, Sherriann, and a very special lady he lovingly called "Grandma," Vera.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents Roberta Coleman, Elizabeth Oneal, Robert Oneal Sr.,
Ruth Bennett, and Ulysses Ross.
Bryant's life touched many, and he will be lovingly remembered by countless relatives and friends
whose hearts he brightened with his presence.
